About

denika

was born in Tucson, AZ and raised in Annapolis, MD from the age of 7. She dropped out of high school at the age of 17 and moved to Philadelphia a year later to pursue Design studies. After receiving her Associate Degree from The Art Institute of Philadelphia she moved on to the women’s art college, Moore College of Art and Design, also in Philadelphia. In 2005 she received her BFA and promptly moved to Arizona with her husband Dennis Hansbury.

Despite enjoying her time getting to know her long-lost younger brother she was unsatisfied with her life in Arizona. She pestered Dennis until he applied for a job promotion to the new Orlando IKEA. Residing in Florida, she is available for freelance graphic design opportunities. Denika fills her days with various craft projects including sewing, crochet and accessory design.

Currently the “Graphic Communication Specialist” for IKEA Orlando. When I’m not at work I draw and paint, showing my work at BOLD HYPE. I’ve shown and sold work at the Grand Opening, Halloween show, SURROUNDED I and II. My next showing at BOLD HYPE will be at DRAWGASMIC in St. Louis, Missouri in July.. When I feel like goofing off I study Japanese with our Nihongo Orlando group and dabble with our PS3.
